Secondary Research Findings

  • Learning difficulties are in many cases hereditary.
  • Learning difficulties affect 20% of the population.

Website Audit

  • Too much text on the website, no clear call-to-actions, not a good readable font, no accessibility considerations

Primary Research Findings

I conducted user interviews with participants from facebook groups and nextdoor app. I gathered insights and mapped them out.

  • Users don’t know what they can help with and get involved.
  • Users need to be informed of what the charity does and how they can help.
  • Users would be open to helping out during their free time.
  • Users need a charity to be familiar if they would support it.

HMW Statements

  • How might we let users know of volunteering activities to get involved in?
  • How might we display what the charity does and how users’ donations are used?
  • How might we get users to help out during their free time?
  • How might we get the charity to be more social?

Next Steps

After the successful usability tests, the designs will be implemented and developed in WordPress. The next steps will include setting up systems to measure the website’s performance and compare this with the older website.

Metrics

Since the organization was local and didn’t have a particular focus on driving traffic to the website, the data collected wasn’t sufficient to determine success.

The organization was absorbed by a bigger organization in August 2023 and now operates as a subcontractor.
